  1. Great post! I am just beginning to take tentative steps in this direction for the healing of Hashimoto's and various intestinal issues. I will visit your blog again as I seek information and recipes. I've already spotted a few that we need to try in the few short minutes I've read here.

5k giveaway! This reasonated with me because I never wanted our daughter to feel different or have negative associations with the foods she is able to eat. Rather than focus on what she "can't" have, we've tried to always focus on the many delicious & healthy foods she can have. We discuss it as a healthier lifestyle & way of eating rather than focusing on the disease. Is it hard for her to turn down foods her friends eat? Sure I bet it is, but she knows certain foods can & will make her sick. We want her to feel confident & not embarrassed of of the food choices she's forced to make around her peers...

Great post full of very helpful ideas of how to navigate social activities that include food (virtually ALL of them). I am fairly new to this and still in the healing mode so not feeling at my strongest but I have to say that I often feel that my own family and close friends must be questioning whether my illness is real or all in my head. This is especially hurtful when it comes from those you love the most.

  4. Thank you so much for this post! I guess I need to act more self assured. It's amazing how people get offended if you won't eat what they are eating. Helpful advice!
