Hi, I want to thank you for your blog. It is as if I am reading my own story. I will look into the autoimmune protocol, even though i have adopted a lot of 'clean' eating already. That might be the last piece of the puzzle.
I have a question on your allergic reactions after eating. Were you ever tested for food allergies? Since my celic diagnosis a few months ago I have developed a ton of allergic like reactions and no doctor can help make me understand what is happening.

    1. Hi Anonymous-
Thank you for reading. I am so glad my story is something you can totally connect w/. AIP definitely helped me start real healing after my Celiac diagnosis. As to the allergic reactions, I had the same experience w/ docs, until I went to an "alternative" practice. I had some cross reactivity testing done there through a lab called Cyrex. I guess much more extensive, specific testing can be done, but I found it really helped explain alot for me. To be honest though, I recommend you do a formal elimination protocol to figure out your other food sensitivities. Give it a google, you will find alot out there on how to do it.

I found that once I went gluten free, a number of allergies came up for me. I also had further testing, which revealed an entire array of allergies. It was called a Food Cellular Allergen Test. It showed that I have major reactions to milk, kale, lemons, sesame seeds - things that I often eat. I don't know why, but before going gluten-free, I did not have much of a reaction to these foods... I am now on quite a limited diet and taking glutamine daily to help rebuild my intestinal walls.

Thank you for this story. I have just started aip after being diagnosed with Hashimoto's and it has only been two weeks. Hair loss is my biggest concern at the moment. Can you tell me at what point you saw improvement with that particular issue? I am trying to remain optimistic..........

It took some time Kate, but it did happen. Stay focused on AIP. You did not get sick in only a day, it will take time to heal. Thanks for reading here & good luck!
