  1. Thank you so much for posting! I have PCOS, Hashimoto's, IBS, and Celiac. When I started Paleo I was excited to be part of a big health movement. However, when just Paleo alone wasn't working for my health issues, I felt depressed and alone. I started AIP about a month ago and people like you and Sarah from thePaleoMom.com are what give me hope every day! Thank you for your blog!
    Sincerely,
    Michele

    1. Michele, thank you so much for reading & you are welcome. All I want to do is help other AIers connect. You aren't alone. Definitely check out Mickey Trescott (the other 1/2 of the new Team Paleo Mom). She also has Hashi's & you might find her blog super helpful. Keep up the excellent work w/ AIP, it is a powerful tool!

  2. Thank you for this frank look at what we go through in this journey and what our loved ones experience. I think this post should be shared with our friends and family to help them better understand and better express their complex and often helpless feelings. (PS Welcome to the Paleo Mom Team!)

  3. What a fantastic post! It was so fantastic that I posted the link to it on my blog! I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's almost 2 years ago and it has been quite the journey. I really related to your feelings and appreciate all you wonderful people out there who are talking about this. You're awesome!

    1. Thanks for reading & sharing Brittany!! I really love it when us AIers can connect & spread the word. Eventually, there will have to be a change in how autoimmunity is approached by our medical system & beyond, 'cause there are just too many of us & we are starting to get loud. 😉

So true of my experience. Seeing Doctor after doctor and having fleeting symptoms made getting a dx difficult and the anxiety label is easy to give. I knew my dx long before the doctors and tests caught up to me! Now I spend most if my time counseling others in those same early stages and it's heartbreaking. For me, if I hadn't found my faith during those years, cooing would have been impossible, it was that isolating. Although my body isn't doing all that great, opening up and developing a strong support system and relying on God has given me tremendous peace in the situation. And now time to make the body well too! 🙂
